Safety Information

The Gulf of Mexico and Pensacola Bay are wild and natural areas that are home to many wild animals, some of which may be harmful.

Remember:

  • Never swim alone.
  • Watch for jellyfish. If stung, do not rub the sting. If an allergic reaction develops or you have difficulty breathing, call 911.
  • Do not panic if you get caught in a rip current. Go with the flow.
  • Watch for sudden storms.
  • Use caution when exploring forts and batteries.
  • The sun is intense! Drink water and wear protective clothing. Apply oxybenzone-free sunscreen, SPF 50.
